Sometimes the worst thing to be, is to be right. The reason I say this is because we have this idea that if we are right, people will agree with us. Well you only have to be alive for about 2 minutes before you start realizing things don't always work the way you hope or plan.
The thing is, most of us usually think we are right, or at least believe we know exactly what is happening, even when we don't have all the information. We then make conclusions with the limited information we have. Allow me to use this illustration quickly: 2 +2 + X = ?
We have this tendency to think the answer to the above mentioned equation is 4. Yes 2 +2 = 4, but we can't just decide what part of life we would like to use and what not. Sometimes we do have a few options, but most of the time, life just happens. This is one of the reasons I'm more than happy with God making the final judgment at the end and not one of us.
Now one of the dangers of actually being right, is we get this added eagerness in an argument. We know this victory belongs to us and we need to let other people see things our way, because. .. We are right!
No, this is just not the way to go. We need to show love and understanding. Yes, give your opinion and state your case but some people just don't want to listen. You will sometimes have those times where: You don't know how they don't see it, and they don't know how you do see it.
I have a tendency to do this, and yes I know this is a huge generalization But we can all try to show more love and understanding during our everyday life, and if people disagree, ask in prayer for understanding. Ask for eyes to be opened, even if it is our own. Jesus wants us to be humble, and it's hard to be humble if we can't let things go or simply say: I'm sorry.
